Arrivals & Departures

ARRIVAL DAYS: June 25-26

Check-in begins at 9:00am and closes at 6:00pm at the Main House.

Upon arrival, students will be given a covid test by the nurse. With a negative result, proceed to the Office for housing assignment and class schedule information.

The dining room will be open for dinner starting Saturday evening. All students are required to attend the orientation meeting in the Concert Hall on Sunday, June 26, at 7:30pm. Classes begin on Monday.

Students who travel alone can be picked up at the local bus (Keene, NY at the Noonmark Diner), or ferry terminal (Essex NY). Please call or email the admissions office with your travel plans if you need a pick up. We regret that we are unable to meet students at airports or other locations.

Arrivals after opening day are subject to the Artistic Director’s approval.

DEPARTURE DAYS: AUGUST 12-13

Students must check out in the office and complete the Check-Out Form no later than 1:00pm on Saturday, August 13. Lunch is the last meal served. Early departures are subject to the Artistic Director’s approval.

Students arriving by car

Meadowmount is 275 miles north of NYC, 130 miles north of Albany and 100 miles south of Montreal on New York Interstate I-87. We are 60 miles South of the Canadian Border.

Approximate driving times to Meadowmount:
From NYC – 5 hours North
From Albany, NY – 2 hours North
From Boston, MA – 5 hours West
From Burlington, VT – 1-1/2 hours Southwest
From Montreal, Canada – 1-1/2 hours South

DRIVING DIRECTIONS:

Meadowmount is 275 miles north of New York City, 130 miles north of Albany and 100 miles south of Montreal on Interstate I-87.

From Interstate I-87:
Take Exit 32 and exit West toward Lewis.
In 700 yards, turn left at truck stop (Redmond Road) and continue 1 mile to the stop sign (County Route 10).
Turn left and immediately bear right.
The Concert Hall is the first driveway on the right and the Main House is the second driveway on right.

Students arriving by bus

The Adirondack Trailways bus stops in Keene Valley, NY 20 miles from Meadowmount. Call 1-800-858-8555 for bus schedules. This is the only bus stop that the Meadowmount shuttle will service.

Students arriving by train

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, there is currently no train service to the Adirondacks. Train service is available to Burlington, VT from where you can take a taxi to the ferry terminal in Charlotte, VT and the ferry to Essex, NY.

Students arriving by air

Students arriving by air must fly into the Burlington, Vermont Airport (BTV). Upon arrival, students take a taxi or car service to the Charlotte, VT ferry landing, approximately 35 minutes from Meadowmount.  Board the ferry to cross Lake Champlain to Essex, NY. Ferries (www.ferries.com) depart every half hour.  Crossing time is about 30 minutes and the fare is $5.00 for a walk on. Students will be met at the Essex, NY ferry landing.

It is very important that you schedule your arrival into the Burlington airport before 7:00pm. The last ferry departs Charlotte, VT, at 8:30pm. If you do not have time to make the last ferry, you will have to book a hotel room in Burlington, VT. There are no hotel accommodations near the ferry in Charlotte, VT.

On your return trip home, you must schedule your departing flight after 9:00am. The first ferry to Vermont does not allow enough time to arrive at the airport for an earlier flight.
